I love Lenka’s new hairstyle! I wish I could be so brave. But I don’t have an adventurous hairdresser like Lenka does. In fact, I don’t have a hairdresser at all. (Can’t you tell?)
I’ve never really been much of a hair person. I mean… I have hair. I have LOTS of hair. I have enough hair for three people. But I never really put much effort into making it look nice.
I usually just wash it, put some mousse in it, and let it dry. That’s it. That’s all I do. Sometimes I make an effort and brush it. But otherwise, it is what it is.
I guess I learned long ago that my hair doesn’t BELONG to me. I don’t get to tell it what to do. It has a life of its own and does its own thing—which is very often just a fluffy, fuzzy mess. Resistance is futile. I do, however, try to cajole it into looking nice for castings or special occasions, but usually find it’s better to consider it a lost cause and just add more lipstick.
I should really get a haircut soon though; it’s starting to look like an old mop. Perhaps I should visit Lenka’s hairdresser! But then again, perhaps not. My job doesn’t allow me to just go changing my hairstyle whenever I want. I’d have to get new photos and rebrand myself. And I couldn’t get parts in period pieces if I had red in my hair like Lenka because it’s too modern. So I guess I’m stuck with what I’ve got. Perhaps I’ll get a trim one of these days.
But for now, I’m just going to let it grow into an old-fashioned, fuzzy mop.
